This vehicle platform is primarily aimed at crowded urban areas where traffic congestion is one big problem. To get around this problem, Volvo’s designers have come up with a design that seats the Tandem Concept vehicle’s occupants one behind the other like in a conventional motorcycle. This will provide the Tandem Concept with motorcycle-like agility with the safety of four wheels.

Still, it’s 2008 already - 2010 is right around the corner. VMCC Design Director Geza Loczi remarked that the Tandem is “a real product still in its infancy that needs a lot of molding and tweaking to grow into a full-fledged finished product.”
