BMW 7 Series announces hybrid
Wednesday, July 9th, 2008After the recent launch of the fifth generation 7 Series, BMW announced that trains and a hybrid version of limuzinei which will be available starting next year. The new hybrid propulsion Bavarian is developed together with Daimler and uses batteries based litium-ion.
Hybrid version of the new 7 Series is a premiere in the range BMW, the manufacturer german concentrandu-up to this point more than the development of propulsion systems based on hydrogen cells or on the most efficient consumption by EfficientDynamics technology.
The new hybrid will not be able to use only in individual electricity hibridele as usual, most likely because of the large mass of limuzinei which can not be propulsata only electric engine. BMW has developed a system to recover energy from braking to be used for filling batteries based litium-ion.
To speed up the process of building an image of environmental auto manufacturer - “green”, BMW has given less importance consumption. Thus, if there will be a hybrid version of the new 750i, limo equipped with the V8 unit 4.4 litre gasoline would not be able to obtain a level of emissions and a consumer version lower than diesel 730d. Most likely, the hybrid solution, which are combined performance of an electric motor with a diesel, most often encountered in hybrid cars last generation, could be materialized in the range BMW 730d hybrid model.
With the new hybrid 7 Series, BMW will have to face competition which has a vast experience much more about hibridelor. Thus, Lexus LS600h will be the main rival of the future BMW 7 Series hybrid with Toyota in the rear group, one of pionerii hybrid models.
